I found this pouch at a gas station and it's supposed to be for holding cigarettes, but I don't smoke and I'm a sucker for tie dye, so I was like, fuck it, I'll put whatever I want in it. Turns out, it's the perfect size to store my pads and tampons in my little backpack when my boyfriend and I go on day trips! Neat little tip if you have periods.

Hi I haven't pointed Tumblr toward my menstrual care shop for a second
It's https://plebeiangoth.etsy.com
These bad boys is waterproof and washable, and if cared for well can last about ten years or so. Also they're black!
Tumblr media
Great for goths or if you don't want to see blood
If you order now you'll have to give me a couple days to ship your order, currently out of town on work but not for so long I gotta put the shop in vacation mode. Just to be transparent.
Thank you for looking at my self-promotion, now get back to shitposting

This also happens at points of aging. I was predictable, regular, and had very similar symptoms every 27.5 days. And then I got to my early 30s and occasionally had one with new symptoms or that was extra bad. After a couple years it was every other month that one was worse - one ovary was a bigger asshole. And then I hit 36 and the only regularity is timing. Every month it’s a different and random combo of new and old and always awful symptoms. Could nausea or insatiable hunger, diarrhea or constipation or normal, exhaustion or just a lil extra sleepy, horrific cramps for days before during and after or none, very manageable flow or something that was so unpredictable that I couldn’t even decide how to prep my body/clothes for the day. So at age 38 my incredibly flaming gay ass is getting an IUD. Because maybe that helps
hmmm why does my uterus hurt and why do i feel kinda off. weird. surely these are not the warning symptoms of a predictable biological process that occurs on a regular schedule. anyway. im going to wear white pants today.

Even back when I thought I was a cis woman and not [vague gesturing] genderfluid whatever, I was already working on trying to stop using euphemisms for menstruation or periods, though admittedly "the blood sacrifice" is hilarious.
But, like, IT DOESN'T HELP ANYONE if this stuff just gets tossed in as "women's health" and then referred to with even more euphemisms as if there's anything to be ashamed of!
LIKE, YEESH, it's healthcare! For people whose bodies happen to shed uterine lining and bleed every month because they're not pregnant! Wow!
It's been tiptoed around as if it's shameful, because the state of being a woman is considered "shameful", whether you're "tempting" sexual violence by how you dress or not being taken seriously because, wow, it's all patriarchy and misogyny!
That affects men, too! Not just trans men or people who aren't cisgender women who need this kind of healthcare, I mean IT AFFECTS PEOPLE WHO DON'T EXPERIENCE THIS because they don't know how to talk to people about these problems, or how to help friends or partners experiencing normal stuff that happens to them!
Like, "he's a keeper" if he goes to the drug store to get you pads and tampons, shouldn't be about how needing those things is embarrassing and he's "so brave" for doing it, it should be about the fact that he who cares about you, and is trying to help care for you and that's adorable, and kind, and worth having in life?
Like, shoving all this stuff under "women's health" and a bunch of flowery euphemisms is a double-edged sword where women find solidarity with each other, while also suffering the misogynistic shame that comes from having the "mysteries" of bleeding every month be tiptoed around, while ALSO excluding people who experience the same stuff that aren't even cisgender women!
There are SO MANY PEOPLE who experience some or all of these healthcare needs that aren't cisgender women, gosh.
Thanks, sorry, I ranted overlong.
btw the term "women's health" to discuss uterine care/menstruation isnt just transphobic, it also keeps up this aggravating idea that the uterus & menstruation are obscene and impolite and need to be kept hidden under flowery vague terms as to not offend any cis men. like trans people demanding the end of gendered language around this stuff aren't just helping trans people, its also just good to normalize calling tampons and pads "menstrual supplies" because thats what they fucking are!!! we should say the words uterus vagina menstruation and we should do it in public and in stores instead of talking about ~women's needs~ and ~feminine care~. trans liberation is fundamental to women's liberation and anti-patriarchal action in general. listening to trans men & people isn't bad for women its good for literally everyone

Be careful when during pms, as hormones may make your moods swings kinda hard to deal with especially on more stressing days (or if you have troubles sleeping/are drained for various reasons) and help your intrusive thoughts come up and take over you. Anxiety and panic attacks may also be more frequent and scare you cause of their intensity. Take care of you, take breaks, sleep, comfort yourself, and try to focus on nice things as much as you can. Go slow. Maybe take a break from news and socials if you fear they may give you bad news and help your mind move towards negativity. Be nice with yourself. Remember none of those thoughts are real, nothing of that is going to happen nor you really think those words. It's not you talking but your fears and insecurities. Reconnect with yourself and try to talk with people that make you feel safe and can help you ground and stay present. It'll be okay.

Edmond having period pain and feeling unwell but still going to work like normal.
But then yakumos like n..noo you need to get some rest you always overwork yourself. Especially when you're in pain like this you still insist on working..! (blushing and teary eyed)
SO THEN edmonds like... okay fine, since you insist I guess it won't hurt to take a day or two off..
AND THEN BOOM!!!!
Scene of edmond in his bed reading a book. There's sweets and warm tea on the night stand and yakumo is putting a heating pad on his stomach.
